What to do if your computer is stuck updating
The hard drives are very small (these are travelling computers), only 28g, so windows asked me to attach an external hard drive in order to update both computers, which I did. I turned it off and on, and it started to try to update again, but was not able.
I tried to start in safe mode, but it just flashed on for a second or 2 and then tried unsuccessfully to update again.
You can force restart your device even if the screen is black or the buttons aren't responding.
Follow these steps: If you don't see the charging screen within an hour, or you see the connect to power screen, check the jack, USB cable, and power adapter.

after numerous turningson and off, I got this error message 0xc000001.The DISM utility uses Windows Update to fix the corruption. Here, chances are that your Windows Update is itself broken, so you need to have a running Windows installation for repair. You can also try temporarily turning off the windows Firewall features and scanning the computer using a good antivirus solution.Don’t forget to make sure that your internet connection is good enough as a slow connection might give you an illusion of a frozen update.
